Their cage does require daily cleaning as they do poop a lot, and they poop as they go. While you can’t train a chinchilla to poop in a litter tray, you can train them to pee in one, which makes cage cleaning much easier. However, it’s still important to maintain a clean environment by doing a thorough clean at least once a week with a chinchilla-safe cleaning product.
